An Evening With Friends

What a difference in weather today.  Clear and sunny after several days of rain and snow. We got out for a quick walk this morning.  Don’t let the sun deceive you, it is still COLD!

This afternoon, one of our long time hiking buddies and his wife picked us up and took us to see their new home.  It is still under construction, but they are hoping to be able to move in by late January.  It is a beautiful house in a beautiful wooded area.  They are both nature lovers and their house reflects that quality.  The design is very open and it has lots of windows and skylights which give you almost a since of being outside.  This is their lifelong dream and we are so excited for them.  I can hardly wait to see the finished product.

After a tour of the house, we went to Olive Garden for a little dinner and more conversation.  Joe and Gene told hiking stories from way back, we speculated about future adventures we’d like to take, and laughed about some of the messes we’ve gotten ourselves into.  We ate too much and stayed up too late.  It was wonderful.  Thanks, Joe and Glenda for a wonderful evening.

Tomorrow we are visiting with my uncle at his church.  He said they would meet us in the lobby about 8 AM.  How early is that?  Oh my.
