At The Rally

We had a very pleasant drive to Albuquerque this morning.  We pulled away about 10 am and drove about 70 miles to a truck stop across from the San Felipe Casino.  We had a leisurely lunch and rest break killing time so as not to be early arriving at the rally.

When we got to the Balloon Fiesta Park I was amazed at the number of people who were already here.  We knew there were staggered arrival times in order to avoid everyone waiting at the gate at the same time.  But I still couldn’t believe how many people had arrived just this morning.

There was really no waiting.  We got into line and it moved right along.  When it was our turn to pull into our site, they had us parked within 5 minutes.  Obviously, they’ve done this before and are doing it well this time.  Now we are just one amongst the thousands of white RVs parked in this field.  How will we ever find our home again if we leave it.

As soon as we got set up, we went over to the Expo New Mexico center to register.  There was a line there, but it wasn’t too long of a wait.  We got our packet of goodies with all the information we will ever need.  Now we are off to meet our friends for wine and cheese.

We get started in a big way tomorrow, but no sneak preview today.
