Another Rocking and Rolling Day

All things considered we both felt pretty good this morning when we rolled out of bed.  We had a little soreness and stiffness in our lower extremities, but not so bad.  Not surprisingly, we did much want to go for a hike today.

Gene checked the weather forecast and, also not surprising, there was a wind advisory for this afternoon and evening.  Having some little bit of experience with high winds under out belts now, we decided to enjoy our home in its completely extended state during the morning hours, then put the slides in and go to the grocery this afternoon.

That plan worked out well.  I did a few household chores this morning, caught up on emails, surfed the internet a little, and read.  Being the first of the month, my accountant husband busied himself with bank statements, budget matters, and that other stuff he does.  After lunch we rearranged the furniture a bit to bring in the slides, then ventured into Carlsbad to the Wal-Mart.  We also took advantage of being in town to buy fuel and were able to get it for 20¢ cheaper per gallon than what it is out here near the National Park.

The wind had picked up considerably by the time we got home causing some difficulty getting the groceries inside.  I got everything put away and now we are relaxing as we listen to the wind howl.

The way our Montana is designed, I can get to almost everything except the stove, microwave, and the cabinets in the rear of the kitchen.  The refrigerator is available, as are the pantry, dishes, and, with a little stretch, the sink.  Everything in the bedroom is accessible except the winter hats and gloves and, even though we wore them yesterday, I think we can do without them until the wind dies down later tonight.  We have a rotisserie chicken and salad for dinner; what more could we ask for?  Life is good.

Tomorrow, for sure, we will do our hike into the caverns.
