Plumbing Issues Resolved

Hallelujah, I can use my sink.

Charles came out this morning and after a couple hours had the galley tank in working order again.  He called his repair “welding”, but it was really more like hot glue gun.  Basically, he put a bead of hot glue-like substance along the crack which supposedly melted the plastic of the tank and, when set, formed a strong enough bond between glue and plastic to prevent leaking.  If this doesn’t work, then a new tank will be in our future.  We have our fingers crossed.

We were very pleased with Charles.  He apparently worked construction and lived in his RV for 12 years traveling from job to job.  Between him and the rest of the crew, there was always something that needed to be fixed on one of the RVs.  He liked the work.   When his wife suggested they settle some place more permanent, he went to RV tech school and opened his own shop.  The lady in the campground office said he was very good, so good, in fact, that he is hard to get on short notice.  We were lucky.

While he was here he looked at the black tank scrubber issue we were dealing with a couple months ago.  He pulled the connection out and looked at it, but couldn’t find anything wrong.  He put it back in and it seems to be working fine now.  It’s a miracle.

Our plumbing issues seem to all be resolved and we are planning to pull away from here in the morning.  We will be cutting it close, but we think we will still be able to stay a week at Big Bend and still have time to visit Guadalupe Mountains and Carlsbad Caverns before we have to be at the Rally in Albuquerque the middle of April.
